Media persons attacked in Gujarat by BJP activists
Ghatlodia (Gujarat), Apr 28 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists allegedly attacked media persons and caused damage to their belongings in Ghatlodia area of Gandhinagar, the parliamentary constituency of the party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani from Gujarat.
They were angry over the Supreme Court's directive to probe into role of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and others in the post-Godhra riots case in .
The attack took place ahead of the arrival of Advani and Modi.
Immediately after the attack, media persons decided to boycott the rally and demanded an apology from the BJP leaders.
On Monday, the Supreme Court asked the SIT to probe the role of 64 people, including that of Modi in the post-Godhra riots cases.
The apex court order was passed in response to a petition filed by Congress parliamentarian Ehsaan Jaffery.
The court asked the SIT to submit the report within three months. (ANI)
