Nepal PM starts talks with diplomatic mission chiefs on future of COAS
Kathmandu, Apr 23 (ANI): Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has started talks with the diplomatic mission chiefs here over the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Rookmangad Katawal row.
Envoys from eight countries including the United States, United Kingdom, India, China and Japan are attending the meeting at the PM's residence in Baluwatar today.
Finance Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is also present.
Dahal has deferred action against General Katawal due to increasing international pressure.
The international community has expressed dissatisfaction on the government move to sack army chief saying it would hamper the peace process.
Earlier, Dahal met United Nation Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) chief Karen Landgren.
Meanwhile, Dr Bhattarai called on UML leader KP Oli in his bid to win support of the Oli camp for sacking the army chief, nepalnews reports. (ANI)
