Jaspal Bhatti to bank on 'fools' to be Prime Minister
Chandigarh, Mar 17 (ANI): Well-known comedian Jaspal Bhatti took a dig at the country's multi-party system by announcing his plans to contest the upcoming general elections on a "Recession Party" ticket.Bhatti, who is a qualified engineer by profession, would 'contest' from his native place Chandigarh on the ticket of "Recession Party", which he launched on Monday.
Declaring himself as a prime ministerial candidate, Bhatti said he would "'bank on the votes of fools."
"We will not divide people on the basis of religion, caste or colour, rather we categorise the masses as intelligent and fools. We don't need votes of intellectual faction, as they choose corrupt politicians in every election. We bank on the votes of fools and I hope that I would win the election and become the Prime Minister," he said.
Bhatti is famous for his satirical take on the woes and problems of the common man. His programmes 'Flop Show' and mini capsules 'Ulta Pulta' were featured on the national network across the country. (ANI)
