London, March 9 (ANI): Jade Goody opened her eyes to fear and raised alarm after being wakened by a woman armed with hammer in her hospital room -praying and chanting over the cancer-stricken star.

The woman, believed to be 41-year-old old French, was said to be carrying a large bag. She was taken into custody after 27-year-old Goody screamed for help.

The Brit celebrity, who has been given few weeks to live after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, had been heavily sedated after suffering exhaustion from her recent christening with sons at Royal Marsden Hospital.

The incident occurred few moments after her jailbird hubby Jack Tweed left her bedside to grab a cup of tea.

"Jade was obviously shocked. She started saying, 'Who are you? What are you doing here?' She called out for a nurse and when someone came the woman ran off," the Sun quoted her representative Max Clifford as saying.

According to Met Police spokesman, the female intruder was later released from custody after further questioning.

"We were called to the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea this afternoon. We arrested a woman who was in a patient's room and whose behaviour was flagged up by the hospital's security," he said.

"After questioning her she was found to be in possession of an offensive weapon. She was arrested for possessing the weapon and taken into custody at a London police station for further questioning.

"She had not attempted to use the weapon," he added. (ANI)
