Perak Indians' interests would be taken care of, says Minister
Ipoh, Feb 9 (ANI): A senior Minister in the Malaysian State of Perak, Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, assured that Indians interests would be taken care of even though they have no Barisan National (BN) representatives in the Legislative Assembly.
He said this after participating in the Thaipusam Festival at the Arulmigusubramania Temple in Gunung Cheroh on Sunday.
Laying stress on the importance of promoting close cooperation in a multi-racial society, Zambry was quotd by the New Strait Times as saying out the BN Government's commitment to safeguard the interests of all. Murugiah, a former PPP Youth chief, said the party would not demand for posts from the state BN Government as there was already an Indian Affairs Administration set up under the charge of a Deputy Minister in the Federal Government.
