Pak Minister denies Zardari making derogatory remarks on journalists
Islamabad, Jan.20 (ANI): Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehman has denied that President Asif Ali Zardari made derogatory remarks about journalists.
"President Zardari has cordial relations with journalists, and he can never think of uttering such words," the Daily Times quoted Rehman, as saying.
Both President Zardari, and Prime Minister Gilani believe in the media's right to freedom of expression, she stressed.
"Both leaders had given the media a free hand to criticise the government and oppose its policies, as this was the essence of a democratic culture," she added.
Zardari had reportedly told a delegation of NWFP businessmen, that journalists were the biggest terrorists in Pakistan.
"Journalists misreported things and presented the situation in a non-objective manner," members of the delegation of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) quoted Zardari, as saying. (ANI)
