Pakistan bans publications of JuD and other org

Karachi, Jan 17: A day after the crackdown on terrorist groups and people involved in extremist activities, Pakistan has now banned several publications of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and other organizations for fanning sectarian hatred intended to outrage religious feelings of the Muslims.

According to The Nation, an official statement issued by the Sindh government said that it has proscribed several weekly and monthly publications of Jamaat-ud-Dawa Pakistan containing material which is objectionable,and provocative.

"In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 99-A Cr.P.C.1898, the Government of Sindh has imposed ban on all the publications and every copy of such periodicals should be forfeited to the government with immediate effect," the statement said.

The list of banned publications included names of magazines such as, monthly Al-Dawa, Tayyabat, Zarb-e-Tayyaba, Voice of Islam, Weekly Ghazwa, Nannahay Mujahid, Al-Rabaat Magazine (Arabic) etc.
