Absence of willing jurors delay's dungeon dad Fritzl's trial
London, Dec 6 (ANI): Austrian incest fiend Josef Fritzl's trial has been delayed - because no jurors want to hear the horrific details of the case.
According to reports, people selected for jury service are doing all they can to turn it down.
So far the Austrians who have been approached have claimed other commitments with their families.
"It's the only legal way to escape jury service. But the truth is no-one wants to hear the horrific details day in day out, or to be tainted by taking part in such a trial," the Daily Star quoted an insider, as saying.
The 74-year-old Fritzl held his daughter Elisabeth captive for 24 years under the family home in Amstetten. During that time span he repeatedly raped her and fathered seven children.
One son died soon after he was born and Fritzl is accused of killing him by failing to get medical help.
Fritzl has admitted burning the baby's body in a stove which powered the heating system of house.
Three of the children lived with Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie, 69, in the house while the other three lived below ground.
Elisabeth, now 42, and the three incest children were all released from the dungeon in April when the children first saw sunlight.
Fritzl faces murder, incest, rape, enslavement, imprisonment and abuse charges. (ANI)
