Mother and son crushed to death by speeding biker

Jalandhar, Nov 29 (UNI) A middle-aged woman and her teenaged son were today crushed to death by a speeding unidentified motor-bike rider near Chugithi Bridge here.

The woman, Amarjit Kaur, accompanied by her 18-year-old son Amarpreet Singh, were on way to cantonement area to distribute sweets among some relatives as the marriage of her daughter had been solemnised a day before.

Husband of the victim, resident of Prithivi Nagar in the city, runs a small transport business and his another son had just reached Australia today after celebrating the marriage, police sources said.

A case been registered in the concerned police station and efforts were on to nab the accused, police said.
