Bank robber surrenders in court, sent in police custody

Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 29 (UNI) The main accused in Khamano bank heist of Rs 46.15 lakh, Kulwinder Singh a former constable of Punjab police, surrendered in a local court and has been remanded in police custody till December 3.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP, Dr Kaustabh Sharma said here today that police was expecting to crack many other crimes with the thorough interrogation of Kulwinder.

The police had recently arrested three accused Gurpal Singh, of Ropar district and Harpreet Singh and Anurag Sandal of Ludhiana district in the case of bank robbery of Rs 46.15 lakh last year, while they were planning to commit another robbery.

Some guns and ammunition were also recovered from them.

After expiry of their police remand Gurpal, Harpreet, Anurag was again presented in a Fatehgarh Sahib based court where Gurpal Singh was remanded into police custody till December 3 while two others were sent into judicial custody.
