High alert in K'taka following Mumbai attacks
Bangalore, Nov 27 (UNI) High alert has been sounded and security beefed up at important locations throughout Karnataka in the wake of terror attacks in Mumbai which left at least 83 people dead since last night.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa convened a meeting of top officials at his home this morning to take stock of the situation and review the security measures.
Top police sources said the security had been tightened and additional forces deployed at strategic locations of economic and political importance.
Exit and entry points from the city are being monitored with security personnel checking all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Security had also been stepped up in Tier II cities like Hubli, Mangalore and Mysore, the officials said.
