Fake currency received from bank, case registered

Lakhimpur Kheri, Nov 27 (UNI) Sugarcane Mill owners of the district have registered an FIR against the Bank of India's local branch, following the recovery of fake notes from the currency wads received from the bank.

As per reports, the mill owners forwarded the same as payment to the cane farmers on November 24.

Altogether 21 notes of Rs 500 denomination were detected counterfeit.

Police has, meanwhile, lodged a case against the manager of bank.

A probe was on.
