Charges framed against former minister in bitumen scam
Patna, Nov 27(UNI) The special CBI judge R S Rai today framed charges against former Bihar road construction minister Md Illiyas Hussain in connection with the multi-crore bitumen scam.
The court also framed the charges against 27 other accused in the scam case.
The charges had been framed under the various sections of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act.
The case was related to misappropriation of bitumen of over Rs one crore in road division Supaul during 1992 to 1996.
The former minister had been charged with misappropriation of bitumen and the fund during his regime.
The charges were explained to the accused including Md Hussain in the open court.
The accused later denied all of the charges framed against them.
