Soren to hold rally in Kolkata's Shahid Minar on Jan 20
Ranchi, Nov 26 (UNI) Describing Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's remark on Greater Jharkhand as ''immature,'' Jharkhand Chief Miniser Sibu Soren today said it did not behove a political leader of Mr Bhattacharya's stature.
Mr Soren condemned the West Bengal Chief Minister's recent statement that the issue of greater Jharkhand comprising portion of Purulia, Midnapur and Bankura was only fomented by the Maoists.
He said he would address a ''vishal rally'' at Shahid Minar in Kolkata on January 20 to protest the alleged atrocties by CPI(M) activities against the 'moolvasis and adivasis' living in that state. On December 20, Mr Soren would hold rally at Purulia as well.
Talking about the greater Jharkhand issue, he said history would bear testimony to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's stand on the matter and asserted that the moolvasis and adivasis living in the ''disputed'' areas always showed allegiance to Jharkhand only.
''You cannot imagine the amount of torture and ordeal the Jharkhandis have to go through there,'' Mr Soren said.
