India should help Pak democracy flourish : Qureshi

New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Pakistan, which has been under military dictatorships for most of the years, today paid tributes to Indian democracy and asked India to help in strengthening its fledgling democracy.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who held talks here tonight with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, said at a press conference that the ''largest democracy in the world'' should support democracy in Pakistan.

''...The largest democracy in the world should support democracy in Pakistan...'' the Pakistan Foreign Minister said at the joint press conference.

He said political parties in his countries and the people supported friendship with India and there was a positive feeling for friendship with India.

Pakistan witnessed elections this year after decades of military rule and a democratically-elected government was sworn in.
