Rifle shooting to grab people's eye in Lucknow Mahotsava-2008

Lucknow, Nov 24 (UNI) Rifle shooting, the game which brought laurels to the country after Abhinav Bindra's win in the Beijing Olympics this year, would be amongst the activities that would catch people's eye, besides the presence of a galaxy of stars in Lucknow Mahotsava-2008 starting from tomorrow.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati would inaugurate the Mahotsava tomorrow evening, where noted ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas would enthral people with his heart winning performance.

Besides, the 'king of comedy' Raju Srivastava, Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari, singers Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan would entertain people of the 'City of Nawabs' with their mesmerising performance on the dais.

Other than the customary vintage car rally, various sports competitions naming rifle shooting, rowing and Ikka Tanga have been included in the Lucknow Mahotsava for a change this year.

This is the first time that rifle shooting has been incorporated to inculcate interest for the game among the youth on the steps of Abhinav Bindra, India's first individual Olympic gold medalist.

As per the schedule, the mohatsava would mark an end on December 5 with the scintillating performance of Sunidhi Chauhan, who has given popular numbers like Crazy kiya re..., Mehboob Mere...

Not only this, the Lucknowites would be able to enjoy some of the rich Awadh cusines, including scrumptious 'Tunde Kabab,' at various stalls.
