Mah Govt to give financial aid to regular loan-repaying farmers
Kolhapur, Nov 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today announced that the government will provide financial help within a month to those farmers who had repaid their crop loans regularly.
Mr Deshmukh was addressing a rally after inaugurating the 'Janjagaran Vikas Yatra' (inform people about developmental works carried out by the state government) at village Koparde in Karvir tehsil of this district. The rally was organised by his party.
He said the government will compensate the regular loan-repaying farmers, who were not benefited earlier when the government announced the loan waiver package for the debt-ridden farmers. The proposal is in the final stage, he informed.
The Chief Minister said the amount will be credited to the bank accounts of these farmers.
Mr Deshmukh said the state government has decided to observe Novermber 26 as 'Savindhan Din' (the constitution day), on which day Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar had handed a copy of the constitution to Dr Rajendra Prasad.
He said during the last four years, the government had carried out various people-centric developmental works. It was morally extending help to every needy person of society.
Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakre, while addressing the rally, charged that the Shiv Sena working president Uddhav Thackery and Leader of the Opposition in the assembly Ramdas Kadam had no knowledge about agriculture. They were misguiding people for their selfish political gain.
He said the 'Janjagaran Vikas Yatra' will traverse all districts of the state informing the people about the ruling government's developmental works.
District Gurdian Minister Harshwardhan Patil and Kolhpur district Congress committee president and MLA P N Patil among others also spoke on the occasion.
