Youth, women to be kept in mind in Lok Sabha poll: AICC

Basti, Nov 21 (UNI) The All India Congress Committee (AICC) today said the party would back the youth in the coming Lok Sabha election at priority, besides providing an equal chance to the women.

''The process of selection of the candidates was on in a speedy manner, but youth and women would be kept in mind,'' said AICC secretary Abdul Mannan addressing newspersons here.

Once decided, the names of the canidates would be declared in the beginning of the next month, he added.

The Congress leader, however, outrightly rejected the charges of the BJP that the Hindu saints were being trapped in the Malegaon blast case fakely.

The alleged involvement of the Hindu saints and seers was still a matter of investigation. The probe agency was proceeding on the basis of evidences and no person was being indicted fakely, Mr Mannan claimed.
