Lalu extends date for resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Bihar

Patna, Nov 16 (UNI) RJD supremo and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today extended the self-imposed deadline of November 15 by ten days for resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Bihar on Maharashtra issue.

Mr Prasad told mediapersons here that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was trying to evade his appeal for resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Bihar on the issue.

'' In his reply to my letter requesting him to take initiative for resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs, Mr Kumar has given reasons for not doing so, which indicates that he is not inclined to quit power for the greater cause -'honour of Biharis', '' he added.

'' I will again write a letter to Mr Kumar to renew my appeal for resignation as it is being called for protecting the interests of Biharis, '' Mr Prasad said adding he had extended the deadline till November 25 for resignation of all MPs, MLAs and MLCs to enable the Chief Minister to have a 'rethink' over the issue.

When asked, Mr Prasad said all his party MPs, MLAs and MLCs of Bihar had already submitted their resignation letters to him in response to his appeal and he would take a decision on it after the extended period of ten days.
