Wipro furniture to set up modern facility at Aurangabad
Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) Wipro Furniture, part of the Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, will set up a modern facility at Aurangabad to manufacture high-end premium office furniture products.
Talking to reporters at the launch of I'M, Premium new age office furnitures range here today, Company Vice-President and Furniture Division Head Parag Kulkarni said the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility would come up at Waluj in Aurangabad and it would go on full stream by the end of next month.
Refusing to divulge the quantum of investment into the plant, he said the company had totally invested Rs 100 crore for Wipro Consumer Care and lighting Group and the manufacturing facility at Waluj was part of it.
The new plant, with automated technology, would focus on new products and designs to meet the needs of the high-end consumers.
He said the office modular business in the country was Rs 1000 crore of which the premium and high-end office furniture products constitute 30 to 40 per cent.
''As it has been growing around 20 per cent year-on-year, we want to cater to these segment'', he reasoned on the company's decision to set up the new plant.
About the new products that were launched today, Mr Parag said theI'M was India's first Leg and Beam based system, designed for contemporary new age offices, with the essence of modern concepts.
The company would also be introducing new premium designs in furniture and seating, that would be designed by world's finest international designers exclusively for Wipro, he said and added that these products would shape the future of office designs in India.
