Scutiny of nominations for 39 Delhi Assy seats complete:10% rejected
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Scrutiny of nomination papers for 39 seats of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, which is to go for polls on November 29, has been completed with 10 per cent of papers being rejected, sources in the Delhi Electoral office said tonight.
In the nominations filed for the 39 seats, 10 per cent were found invalid and hence rejected, the sources said.
Scrutiny of nominations filed for the remaining 31 seats is still on and is likely to be completed only by late tonight, they said.
A total of 1086 candidates had filed their nominations for 70 seats in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, when nominations closed on November 11.
As per the notification, November 11 had been fixed as the last date for filing of nominations.
Today was the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures.
Counting of votes will be taken up on December 8. The term of the present Legislative Assembly of Delhi is expiring on December 17.
