JD(S) to launch campaign against BJP led govt.
Hubli, Nov 15 (UNI) The Karnataka Janata Dal (Secular) will launch campaign against the failures of the BJP led Government in the State, former Minister and senior JD-S leader Basavaraj Horatti said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the party would shortly meet under new Working President H D Kumaraswamy to chalk out programe for the campaign.
Coming down heavily on BJP and Chief Minister Mr Yaddyurappa, he said that the JD-S had earlier decided to desist from launching any criticism against BJP Government till completion of six months period. But on witnessing the poor performance of the Government the party felt that there was no use in sitting quiet now and the opposition should rise to the occasion to caution the Government and play effective role as opposition.
He said that the BJP leaders are under the impression that the opposition has remained mum due to its weakness."But they are wrong.
We wanted to give an opportunity to the new Government and it was breathing time it. But now, it has totally failed to understand the pulse of the opposition as well as the people.
He said that in the entire history of Karnataka state no Government had affected so much of transfers of officials as the BJP Government. Hence, none of the of the officials are in a position to listen to the Government. There is total anarchy.
The Secretary General of the party Mr P C Siddangoudar, who was also present, said that the party is all set to revive the party and build it as an effective opposition. The Base of the party in North Karnataka will be strengthened.
