Paddy procurement touches 129.32 lakh tonnes mark

Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) The six government agencies and millers procured over 129.32 lakh tonnes of paddy by yesterday evening.

Out of the total procurement of 129,32,215 tonnes of paddy, PUNGRAIN procured 35,62,595 tonnes of paddy, MARKFED procured 27,40,059 tonnes of paddy, PUNSUP procured 26,82,091 tonnes of paddy, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 14,84,393 tonnes of paddy and Punjab Agro procured 12,52,773 tonnes of paddy.

The Central Government Agency FCI has so far procured only 2,05,469 tonnes of paddy while the millers have procured 10,04,834 tonnes of paddy.

Ludhiana district is maintaining its lead in paddy procurement by procuring 16,06,013 tonnes of paddy. It is followed by Sangrur with 14,73,048 tonnes, Ferozepur 12,06,238 tonnes and Moga 11,38,671 tonnes.
