Orthodox Church to stage rally to protest "denial of justice"

Kottayam, Nov 13 (UNI) Elaborate arrangements are being made for the rally to be held here on November 16 under the auspices of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in protest against the ''denial of justice'' and non-compliance of the Supreme Court verdict in Church cases by the state government.

Talking to mediapersons at Devalokam, Orthodox Church headquarters, Catholicos-designate Paulose Mar Milithios said one lakh members of the Church would take part in the rally.

The believers would take a pledge that they would remain loyal to Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan and the Episcopal Synod. They would reiterate that freedom and localism (status) of the Church would not be rendered to any foreign forces, he said.

Later in the evening, the Church flag was hoisted at the Baselios college grounds, venue of the rally, by Mar Milithios.
