Paswan lays foundation stone for Barauni Fertiliser Industry
Barauni, Nov 12 (UNI) Union steel and fertiliser minister Ram Vilas Paswan today laid the foundation stone for renovation of Barauni fertiliser industry here with a total investment of Rs 45,000 Crores.
The plant would become operational by 2012.
After laying the foundation stone, Mr Paswan said the Barauni fertiliser industry would produce 11.55 lakhs Metric Tonnes per year and the Centre had waived its earlier dues on the fertiliser unit to the tune of Rs 3500 Crores.
'' The Bihar government had also waived Rs 274 Crores which was due against electricity bills,'' he said and expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the state government's good gesture.
'' All the political leaders from Bihar are united on the issue of development of the state,'' Mr Paswan said indicating the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on the dais.
Mr Paswan informed that the foundation stone for steel processing unit would be laid in Gaya within 15 days while a stadium would be constructed in Barauni with the help of Steel Authority of India Limited.
Reiterating his earlier demand for President's rule in Maharashtra, Mr Paswan said people from Bihar living in that state was being attacked without provocation.
'' Unless poverty in Bihar is eradicated, the exodus of the people to other states in search of jobs cannot be checked'', he added.
