India and European Union to jointly promote cultural diversity

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) India and European Union today agreed to work together to strengthen and promote cultural diversity.

The decision followed a meeting between Tourism and Cultural Minister Ambika Soni and Member of European Commission responsible for Education and Culture Jan Figel who called on her here.

During the half an hour meeting, both the leaders exchanged views on close cooperation in culture sector between India and European Union.

They also agreed to take up various other cultural events and exchanges between India and the European Union to strengthen bonds and people to people contact.
