Gujarati-Urdu poet Adil Mansuri dies in US

Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) Noted Gujarati and Urdu poet Janab Adil Mansuri Saheb passed away recently at a hospital in New Jersey in the United States.

According to delayed reports reaching here, the 74-year-old poet died on November 6 at the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment. He was buried the next day at Masjid Darul Islah, Teaneck in New Jersey.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mansuri, a native of Ahmedabad, had moved to New Jersey several years ago and had become a US citizen.

The poet was honoured with ''Vali Gujarati Award'' by Gujarat government recently for his literary work.
