Karnataka opposes Hogenekkal project: Yeddyurappa
Chennai, Nov 10 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said Karnataka was opposed to Hogenekkal Integrated Water Supply Project and would take it up with the Centre to stop the implementation of the project.
Mr Yeddyurappa, who is here in connection with a private function, made this remark when asked about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's remarks that the State Governemnt had finalised an agreement with the Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) for funds and tenders have been floated for taking up work.
Asked what could be the solution as the Tamil Nadu Government had already floated tenders to take up work, Mr Yeddyurappa said ''we want an amicable solution''. He was here in connection with a private function.
