Small screen artistes observe fast on Lankan Tamils issue

Chennai, Nov 9 (UNI) Another body of film artistes today observed a day-long fast to express solidarity with the suffering Tamils in Sri Lanka.

After the Tamil Film Producers Council 's agitation on October 19 at Rameswaram, the human chain stir in the city on October 24 and the South Indian Film Artistes Association fast here on November 1, the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) on November 5, the small screen artistes emulated them by observing a fast to condemn the attack on Tamils in neighbouring Sri Lanka.

The fast by the small screen artistes association was organised in front of the State Guest House at Chepauk.

About 150 TV artistes, including popular film actors like Devayani and Deepa Venkat, participated in the fast, which was started by BJP National Leader Su Thirunavukkarasar.
