2 killed, 3 injured in road accident

Sambalpur, Nov 9 (UNI) Two people were killed and three critically injured when their bikes collided with a dumper near Rajapara on the the outskirt of Hirakud township here today.

Police identified the deceased as Aniruddha Sharma (26) and Mahammed Ansari (35).

Both the victims belonged to Jharkhand but were staying in Sambalpur town, Hirakud police station Inspector-in-Charge Subash Chandra Sahu said.

Immediately after the accident, the victims were rushed to the VSS medical college and hospital, Burla, but they succumbed to their injuries, police said.

Police seized the dumper but the driver managed to escape, it added.
