Chhath festival ends with 'Araghya' to rising Sun
Patna, Nov 5 (UNI) Millions of people today paid obeisance to the rising sun on the banks of various rivers, including the Holy Ganges, marking the end of the four-day Chhath festival in Bihar.
In Patna, lakhs of devotees offered Araghya to the rising sun marking the end of the four-day Chhath festival. Thousands of devotees from distant areas had made makeshift arrangements on the bank of river Ganges to catch a glimpse of the rising sun and offer Araghya with all dedication and piousness.
Reports reaching here from several parts of the state said lakhs of devotees paid obesiance to the Sun God on the banks of various rivers.
On the directive of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state administration had made foolproof arrangements to ensure hassle-free celebration of Chhath festival. Basic amenities were provided to the devotees while several voluntary organisations had also rendered their services to ensure all comforts to the devotees on the banks of rivers and other places where Araghya was offered to the Sun God.
