Uranium smugglers nabbed in Mizoram
Aizawl, Nov 3 (UNI) Two uranium smugglers were apprehended during a joint operation launched by Four Assam Rifles(AR) and Champai police near Myanmar border recently in Mizoram.
AR sources today said Tawia(20) and Sangkhuma(58) were nabbed from Holiday Hotel in Champai and a bottle filled with gray material was recovered from them.
The former hailed from Manipur, while the latter was a resident here, sources added.
It was ascertained during interrogation that the seized material was uranium, which was given by an unknown person at Shillong with instructions to find prospective buyers in Myanmar, sources told UNI.
