Cong will reinstate removed PTA teachers: Virbhadra
Nahan, Nov 3 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has announced that all the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) appointee teachers who had been removed by the present BJP Government would be reinstated and regularised if the Congress would come to power.
''This was most unfortunate that the teachers appointed under PTA scheme had been removed from services without considering their credibility and qualification. The BJP government is taking action against these teachers because they were appointed by the Congress government,'' Mr Singh Said while talking to mediapersons here last night.
''The PTA teachers were appointed only in the most remote areas where no fresh teacher was willing to join. The main aim of this scheme was to make the local youth serve in their area,'' he said.
He said PTA had no fund to pay salaries to teachers and so government funds were provided.
Expressing concern over the BJP government changing the names of schemes introduced by his government, he said that Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate Medical College Paprola was started by his government but now the name of the college had been changed to Dindayal Upadhyay College. Similarly, Rajiv Gandhi Kutir Avas Yojna was introduced during the Congress government but now its name had been changed to Atal Bihari Avas Yojna.
