Citu condemns ''attempt'' on Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's life

Kolkata, Nov 3 (UNI) The Centre of Indian Trade Unions, Bengal unit, today condemned the attempt to kill Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacahrjee near Salboni in West Medinipur yesterday.

Citu's general secretary Kali Ghosh, in a statement, said the attempt was a sinister game plan of anti-Left and reactionary forces, who have combined to stall all industrial and other development projects in West Bengal.

The Citu also called upon the working class to remain alert and raise their voice of protest against such attempt.

The statement, however, did not mention anything about Union Minster Ram Vilas Paswan, who was at Salboni with the Chief Minsiter and both had escaped from the Maoist-triggered landmine blast at noon.
