BSP justifies removal of Patel's statue at Pratapgarh
Lucknow, Nov 3 (UNI) The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh today justified the removal of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue at Pratapgarh, as no permission was taken by the district authorities to install it.
UP BSP president and state Cooperative Minister Swami Prasad Maurya in a statement here said that his party supports authorities who prevented a 'mafia' to inaugurate the statue.
''The BSP government would not allow any criminal to take law in his hands and try to do politics in the state,'' he underlined.
The BSP leader was also critical on the statement of SP leaders demanding arrest of Ms Mayawati over the issue. ''Such demand is just a wish the SP leaders and its supremo,'' Mr Maurya said.
