GM India Oct sales increases 6 per cent at 6,465 units
New Delhi, Nov 01 (UNI) Despite sluggish market conditions, General Motors (GM) India today said it has registered a sales growth of six per cent at 6465 units in October 2008, compared to 6,139 units in the corresponding month last year.
''Despite sluggish market conditions our sales have been primarily driven by the Chevrolet Spark which has registered all time high sales in October 2008 since its launch,'' company Vice President P Balendran said in a statement.
The company sold 4,390 units of the Chevrolet Spark in October this year, 855 units of the Chevrolet Tavera and 934 units of the Chevrolet Aveo.
Meanwhile, the company said it plans to reach 188 sales points by the end of this year from present 145, whereas targets to increase its service outlets to 190 by 2008 end from 148.
