Woman saved from jaws of crocodile in Sundarbans
Kolkata, Oct 29 (UNI) A couple was seriously injured in a crocodile attack in the Sundarbans today, police said.
Fisherman Kanai Samanta (32) and his 28-year-old wife Bishnupriya of Patharpratima of South 24-Parganas had been fishing in the Jagdal river early this morning.
When Bishnupriya got down in the river to spread nets, Kanai heard a scream and saw his wife being dragged into the river by a crocodile.
Kanhai immediately jumped into the river and pulled her out, but he himself was seriously wounded by the reptile.
Both were taken to the local health centre.
