Honorarium of anganwari workers and helpers enhanced in HP

Shimla, Oct 27 (UNI) The central government has agreed to enhance the honorarium of anganwari workers and helpers of Himachal Pradesh by Rs 500 and Rs 250 per month respectively with effect from April this year under the ICDS programme.

The anganwari workers and the helpers would now get emoluments of Rs 1800 and Rs 950 per month respectively. This would mean that the anganwari workers and helpers would get additional benefits of Rs 6000 and Rs 3000 respectively per year.

This enhancement was due to the efforts of Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, a spokesman of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department said here today.

There are around 36,500 anganwari workers and helpers in 18,248 anganwari centres of the state.
