Ganai takes over Principal secretary, Home in JK after EC's approval

Srinagar, Oct 24 (UNI) Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, IAS, took over as Principal Secretary, Home in Jammu and Kashmir following clearance by the Election Commission (EC).

Mr Ganai replaced Anil Goswami who has been posted as Financial Commissioner (Revenue).

The transfer orders of Mr Goswami and Mr Ganai were issued along with 12 other senior IAS and KAS officers a day before the EC announced the seven-phase Assembly poll schedule for Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

In his first interaction with the Home Department officials, Mr Ganai emphasised on the development of a healthy work culture and speedy disposal.

He stated that he was in favour of more decentralisation and delegation of powers so as to reduce unnecessary movement of files.
