CPI plea for immediate reduction in petrol, diesel prices
New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) The Communist Party of India(CP1) today demanded that the government should reduce the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas in the backdrop of fall in the prices of oil products in the international market.
"Since the price of crude oil has come down drastically in the international market with the price per barrel falling from 140 dollar per barrel to just 65 dollar, the government must effect a reduction," CPI floor leader in Lok Sabha Gurudas Dasgupta said at a press conference.
Mr Dasgupta, flanked by his colleagues C K Chandrappan and D Raja, deplored that the government remains "non-committal" despite a big fall in crude oil prices.
