Yashpal of Punjab wins first judo gold

Karnal, Oct 22 (UNI) Displaying deft touch, Yashpal of Punjab Police lifted the first gold in the judo competition on the second day of the 57th All India Police Sports Wrestling Cluster' Meet at the Karan stadium here today.

Yashpal overcame the challenge of Samunder from Border Security Force (BSF) in the final of the 100 kg weight category. The bronze was won by Narender of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Jitender of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Nearly 1500 sportspersons from 28 state police and paramilitary forces are participating in the 5-day event in the disciplines of boxing, wrestling, judo, weightlifting and gymnastics.
