Raj Thackeray's wife, Sharmila stages 'dharna'

Thane, Oct 22: Raj Thackeray's better half also seem to have got trained by her husband. Even as the curfew is clamped in the areas around the Kalyan court and the Manpada police station at Dombivli, Sharmila Thackeray, wife of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray, on Wednesday, Oct 22 staged a 'dharna' in front of the police station demanding meeting with her husband. Mr Thackeray is lodged in the Manpada police lock up since last evening and is likely to be produced in the court on Wednesday, Oct 22 afternoon.

On Wednesday, Oct 22, Sharmila went to the Manpada police station and demanded to meet her husband. The police reportedly allowed Sharmila to go in but prevented others who accompanied her. This angered her who instantly squatted in front of the police station. She declared that she would not move till her husband comes out of the lock up.

She was joined by other party activists. The situation around the Manpada police station and Kalyan court is still tense and the police have stepped up security.
