City bus service launched in Sirsa

Chandigarh, Oct 22 (UNI) Sirsa today become the first city of Haryana where city bus service has been launched.

The service was started by constituting a city bus service society, which will functional under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner.

Deputy Commissioner V Umashankar flagged off the city bus service in the presence of other prominent dignitaries.

An official spokesman said initially four buses had been included in city service with a cost of about Rs 40 lakh.

The ownership of the buses had been given to Municipal Council, Sirsa while the running responsibility had been fixed with City Service Society, Sirsa.

He said the city bus service had been started on no profit no loss basis.
