JNTU, C R Rao Institute JV on new courses in offing
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 21 (UNI) The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, in collaboration with C R Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Sciences (AIMSCS), Hyderabad, is likely to start new research and training programmes in the fields of Bio-informatics, Bio-statistics and Statistics, Simulation, Modelling and Data Analysis.
An agreement is likely to be signed for the joint collaboration project between the two institutes shortly, AIMSCS Director S B Rao told mediapersons here today.
He said presently, consultations were in progress between the JNTU and the Institute on the joint collaboration.
He said JNTU Kakinada Vice-Chancellor Allam Apparao, an IT expert himself, is keen on starting new courses and research programmes that had relevance to the hydrocarbons exploration activities going on in the Krishna Godavari Basin.
Dr Rao said once the agreement was signed, the research and training programmes could be started in the JNTU Kakinada and claimed the funding would not be a problem as agencies -- both state and central -- were keen on funding the research and training programmes.
Under the collaboration, he said, the AIMSCS would start its centre in the JNTU Kakinada campus and extend the required technological support to the faculty members.
He opined that JNTU Kakinada should bestow its attention on research and training programmes, deviating from conventional working.
