ICBENT-2008 starts today at D Y Patil University
Kolhapur, Oct 21 (UNI) A three-day International Engineering and Nanotechnology Conference (ICBENT-2008) started at the D Y Patil University campus, here today.
In the inaugural address, Prof Irene K P Tan of Kuala Lumpur University emphasised on the collective efforts of scientists, doctors and engineers for the benefit of the society.
Prof Tan is an alumnus of the industrial biotechnology training programme in Japan, Germany and USA. She also expressed her wish to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Malaya University and D Y Patil University to conduct research works jointly.
The inauguration function was presided over by noted educationist 'Padmashree' Dr D Y Patil.
About 500 delegates across the world are participating in this conference.
