Jamia Millia varisty VC terms Batla House encounter 'fake'
Azamgarh, Oct 20 (UNI) Tagging the Batla House police encounter in New Delhi 'fake,' Jamia Millia Islamia University Vice-Chancellor Mushirul Hassan today said he was willing to fight the case on behalf of the innocent arrested students.
''The Muslims are being targeted in the name of terrorism...the community will not stand this anymore and will voice its protest aloud,'' he said addressing a demonstration and meeting held under the banner of Ulmar Council over terrorism here.
Seeking a judicial inquiry into the infamous encounter, the VC said he was ready to fight the case for the students, who were arrested after being suspected as terrorists.
Lashing out the communal forces, Mr Hassan said they would not be spared anymore for defaming the Muslims for terrorism.
He also asked the Muslims to be united and strong during this tough time.
