Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray has also jumped in the agitation launched by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) against north Indians appearing for Railway Recruitment Boards Examination today.

Mr Thackeray has demanded that the advertisements for the vacancies in Railways should appear in the newspapers of those states where they are required.

This statement is significant against the backdrop of incidents of attacks on the north Indians who came here to appear for the examinations.

In Maharashtra, the attacks took place at several places in Mumbai, Thane, extended suburb Nallasopra and even in some district areas also. Mr Thackeray's estranged cousin Raj Thackeray was at the forefront in attacking the north Indians for their dominance in Railways.

Realising the political mileage that Mr Raj Thackeray might get due to this, Mr Uddhav Thackeray also demanded the Marathi share in Railway jobs.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has, meanwhile, instructed the police to take stringent action against MNS people who are involved in the attacks.
