JD-U demands to arrest Bal and Raj Thackeray
Patna, Oct 19: Janta Dal(United) demanded immediate arrest of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and his nephew Raj Thackeray, president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for their alleged instigation to manhandle students from Bihar.
The students had gone there to appear in a competitive examination of Railway Recruitment Board.
In a release issued here, the JD(U) MLC Prof Aslam Azad said the incident was a serious threat to unity and integrity of the country and those who were behind such activities, must be booked with charges of sedition.
'' Provocative statements of both the leaders against the north Indians especially Biharis were highly irresponsible and they should be immediately arrested'', he said adding if stringent action against such elements were not taken, the situation would aggravate further.
''If the Maharashtra government fails to take stern action against them the Centre should intervene to ensure stringent action, he added.
