2 labourers trapped in 270 feet-deep pit in Barmer
Barmer, Oct 17 (UNI) Uncertainty prevailed over the fate of two labourers trapped in 270 feet-deep pit in a nearby hamlet on Wednesday even as rescue operations continued for the third day today.
According to reports, Likhmaram and Nangaram were digging the well pit at nearby Surate Ki Dhani, when a portion of the well caved in.
The rescue operations were initiated immediately but the victims were still trapped deep inside the pit.
''We expect to reach down to the exact point to extricate the victims by late tonight,'' an official engaged in the rescue operation said.
