Shive Sena warns Jet Airlines of agitation

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) Echoing the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) sentiments on the reterenchment of 800 odd employess of the Jet Airlines, Shiv Sena today warned the airlines management of agitation if the issue is not resolved amicably.

Speaking to mediapersons, after laying the foundation stone of 'Amar Jawanjyot' smarak of the 1857 war heroes near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), Mr Thackeray said Shiv Sena has a recognised union in the Jet Airlines.

MNS Chief Raj Thackeray earlier today rallied behind the sacked employees of the airlines and threatened to stop flights of it if the company failed to reinstate them.

Mr Thackeray further said talks between union resentatives and top management is going on to find out a solution. If the talks fail, then they will launch agitation to protest against the retrenchment of employees' by the management, he said.

He was, however, hopeful that some solution will be found out.

It may recalled that the Jet airlines had sacked 800 flight attendents and said more job cuts are in pipeline, barely a day after firming up an alliance with Kingfisher Airlines, to weather the turbulent times in the country's aviation scene.
